It is a herbicide and I hate it the most...ask why?? coz people are dying drinking this thing. of course, all are suicidal attempts and their bad luck is it doesn't have any antidotes and doctors here aren't able to save them.
The bad thing is that most of them are 18-25 age people and this makes me worry😬.
For the past 3 months, I have been attending a hospital for case studies and practice in the evenings and I saw almost 10 poisoning cases all of them were suicide attempts and most of them were paraquat and others were rat repellents, some tablets, and some acids, etc it's easy to save others but not the same with paraquat, its quite powerful and harmful, I saw only one lucky girl to be saved from that coz they reached hospital quicky and started treatment quickly.
it also makes me angry that all those teenagers have silly reasons for their suicidal attempts at the cost of their life... I hear reasons like...one boy wanted a bike when their parents said NO he drank that poison... the irony is we ourself communicated with him on the day he was admitted and he was dead by next day... recently an 18 years girl was discharged on LAMA...she took that poison coz she had some fight with her mother... it's okay we don't know the exact story of every patient but nothing is greater than life and they are dying for silly reasons and at a very younger age...
these days I have been thinking if only one hospital has these many cases I can't even imagine how many people are dying in other hospitals all over and how many are dying without even reaching hospitals.
and I also judge parenting here even if sound bad, it is parents responsibility to raise them properly, coz children imitate and learn form parents.
I wish govt or some NGOs bring some awareness among people, especially in villages and farmers who store it in their houses...i wish i could join an NGO at some point in my life.

I don't know but its coincidence. I was discussing with students and faculties related to the same matter after reading in the newspaper about the suicide of two teen lovers. I am sure that they even don't know the real meaning of love.
ReplyDeleteThis issue doesn't have single solution and would take lots of effort. Its combined responsibilities of parents and educational institutes.
Educational institutes are now so professional and money oriented and I don't think they would take any positive step towards it.
I used to teach my students to face the challenges in the life. I wish at least they understand life and enjoy different phases of life.
I wish you too find one of the solutions. Collective efforts will be more effective.
Best wishes
Ohh!..so you were a lecturer?!... I am glad that you cared about your students lives and there are some lecturers who just stress students mentally..and yeah! I agree with that "collective efforts are effective "👍🏻
DeleteI'm Asst. Prof. in University. I feel happy that I am surrounded by young minds. Actually very few came to university for getting knowledge. That is another story.
